Another Book Series and More Manamon

Well, it's allot sooner than four months! I think my recent idea of reading a series and then posting a little about it afterword, just might work for me after all.

I just finished another Graphic Audio series. This one was entitled, The Chaos Queen Quintet. As you can guess from the title, there were five books to it.

It was about an elf who marries a man she hopes will give her a better life so as to escape the persecution of her village that is mostly inhabited by humans. She does receive a better life, but not in any way that she was expecting. After they are attacked at their wedding, he runs away, hoping the people who attacked him will come after him instead of going after his new wife. The elf chases him across the world, getting herself embroiled in a war in which she must decide whether to become an instrument for good or evil. Nothing is as it seems, including her new husband. Secrets abound everywhere and it keeps you on the edge of your seat.

Had I known about the author before hand, I might have had my doubts. Ok, don't scream at me just yet. I have a reason why I say this.

The books have allot to do with religion, some of which closely mirrors our own story of Christ and his disciples. If you know what to look for, you can see it. Had I known about it in the beginning, I would have been skeptical. The last time I read a fantasy series written by an author that was steeped in religion, I was quite bored! The series was slow and while it did have some memorable parts to it, those were few and far between.

Knowing that this author too is deep in to religion as well, would have made me think that I might also not like this series. Luckily, I gave it a try and loved it! I loved that he didn't mind putting demons and elves, beasts and vampires in it, as well as showing addiction to drugs. I'm glad I simply looked at the book jacket and thought I'd give it a go.

The ending of the series was bittersweet. Not everyone gets a happy ending and there are questions still left unanswered. I look forward to reading whatever this author puts out next.

In other news, I finally completed Manamon 2! It's taken just over a year! I was stuck in a few places and spent a good deal of the year on vacation, away from my desktop on which I have the game stored. Now, I just have to do the post game stuff. Yes, I'm one of those gamers who likes to one-hundred percent a game if at all possible.

In fact, I was so intrigued by the second game, I failed to finish the first one! Well, ok, technically, I did finish it, but I failed to catch a few creatures. Since it was my first time playing a game like this, I didn't know you had to capture all the Manamon. So, because I didn't, there were some things I couldn't do. I realized I needed to restart the game if I wanted to truly complete it. At least I know the full story of both games now. :)

I do have other topics to discuss, but not this post. I will touch on those topics next post. For now, I'm going to find another book series to read. Until next time.
